Curses and Magic

Dearest Reader,

This must be one of my worst moments since the beginning of this school year...(That's saying a lot if you knew what I've been through.)

But, I won't leave you in Medias Rea , so I'll start from the beginning.

I was late to school, (not a usually occurrence if I can help it) due to an issue with my legal council breaking through with the Insurance company that cover's my home. It's been nothing but one big problem after another trying to get reparations after the fire...I will never let Samael make me that open ended a deal again...

At any rate, I arrive to my car and discover my cell phone is full of text messages from Robin.

Mostly asking where I was, but I swear to you dear reader, that I cannot tell you how my heart started pounding in my chest....I didn't know what was wrong, if anything but I rushed to the school with all due haste.

I can honestly tell you that I've never been so relieved in my life to see Robin safe and sound talking with...Chantel. (As much as she creeps me out, I know that she at least looks out for the welfare of the school...which includes Robin's safety.)

At any rate they had holed up in Chantel's recording studio with a box of cell phones from the school rugby team, as well as, Mr.Scott's cellphone.

This had significant importance because, I had forewarned Chantel in a note that Mr. Scott was someone to be "taken care of", as he was a sexual predator/supernatural entity that was "preying" on our fellow classmates...Which I knew, none of us would bear any further...( I am secretly relieved for the time being that we are allies, as this was quite an effective way of gathering intel.)

Robin, Ardath, Israel, Chantel, and I met together and found out where he would be this evening with the help of a gentle soul/fellow classmate by the name of  Tobias. (The school smart-guy and a good man in general.) He hacked into Mr.Scott's cellphone and discovered he was part of some kind of cult, which Chantel recognized in name and practices as not being a good thing.

The cult meetings were held in a very posh club which I insisted that entrance would be no problem... (If name dropping didn't help, then I could always call for a quick favour from Sammy in a pinch...)

So, we decided that we would meet after school to get our "disguises" and break their cult gathering apart...As quietly and covertly as we could. Israel informed us that another one of our classmates-a kid on the swim-team-had interacted with Mr.Scott recently and had unfinished business with him. So, we easily accepted the new addition to our war party, and got to the club dressed to the nines.

I can say, we all looked good....But Robin was captivating all my attention...She looked stunning. Truly, radiant.

I wish I had told her when I had the chance...

We weren't at the table more then 20mins working out our plan of attack, when I noticed Robin was missing from the table...Ardath looked into his mind and found an image of a red-dress going to a dark place upstairs...

I knew then, she had gone on ahead of us.

I freaked out, ran up the stairs, easily moving the bouncer aside, and ran after her calling her name...The next 5 minutes I honestly don't remember most of....But I'll recount as much as I can for posterity reader.

Suddenly, Robin was standing at the top of the steps, a circle of people chanting in some unknown tongue sung silently to a room surrounded on all sides by mirrors-and there standing amongst it all was Mr. Scott...but, not the Mr.Scott I remember...Something about him was horribly wrong...A wave of darkness enveloped us and then all went to Hell.

The New Guy became a Werewolf, Israel turned into an bright-burning light of...I'm scared to admit...death, and Ardath became creepily quiet and monotone...Almost alien in his demeanour...

Next thing I knew, Fay started to appear through the mirrors, Israel and the Werewolf were fighting, and Mr.Scott was being killed...Although, frankly, I don't know how...

My mind was not on the fight, but rather on protecting Robin, whom I could not see...I was confused and then, as the dust settled I realized, she wasn't anywhere to be seen...

I rushed out the door of the restaurant not but 5 minutes after the sounds of police sirens started to ring in the near distance.

I looked into my rear view mirror to see the others barely escaping arrest, and Samael's smug form in my backseat...It was then that I knew I'd have to do something I'd been avoiding since Christmas break...I knew I'd have to go against all of Robin's and Israel's warnings and pleas...In order to save Robin, who I just knew was in mortal danger....

"Sammy." I said to his image in my mirror.
"YES, VINCENT?" He spoke in his too familiar, smoky voice. I thought I could hear mirth in his question.
"I...I need your help." I struggled with the last part of the sentence.
"I KNOW YOU DO VINCENT. OH, I KNOW YOU DO."

I made a promise, Dear Reader, and I intended to keep it. No matter what.
 -V
